Side effects of Adenosine
Facial flushing, palpitations, chest pain and hypotension tachyarrhythmias and bradyarrhythmias may occur. Shortness of breath occurs in 25 up to over 50% of patients studied.

arrhythmias (most commonly ventricular extrasystoles), transient atrioventricular nodal block of differing degrees. Hypotension is frequently recorded

Meds that a doctor may withhold before the test
- Isosorbide dinitrate (for example: Dilatrate, Isordil)
- Isosorbide mononitrate (for example: Imdur, ISMO, Monoket)
- Nitroglycerin (for example: Minitran, Nitropatches, Nitrostat)
- Dipyridamole (Persantine) -- Stop taking 48 hours before the test
